Educational Vision Plan

Following the adoption of the 2023 Strategic Plan the college will begin development of the Educational Vision Plan. The Educational Vision plan is defined as a part of the College’s Strategic Plan that defines the education goals of the College as well as the current and future curriculum to achieve those goals. The Educational Vision Plan guides the institution’s planning processes and precedes and traditionally guides the Facilities, Technology, Fiscal, and People plans.

Steering Committee Charge

• Guide the development of the Educational Vision Plan
• Develop a Request for Proposals to hire an external consultant
• Provide a recommendation for the selection of an external consultant
• Develop a timeline for the creation and adoptions of the 2023 Educational Vision Plan 
• Provide monthly updates
• Primary responsibility for the following sections:
  • Overview of the College
    • Mission, vision, history, etc.
    • Org chart to the VP/ED level
  • Educational Vision Planning process
  • External Environmental Scan
    • State of the economy in Santa Barbara and California
    • Labor/workforce needs of the service area
    • Demographics of service area
  • Future of Higher Education
